My February...

It's been over a month since my last post and I remember that post was written during the last few hours of new year's day. Now I find myself doing the same thing at the same occassion, only today is chinese new year! Happy new year to all of my friends who got chinese genes in their bones!

So you know already that February is a fully loaded month in terms of special occassions to our tiny tiny family that I would never want to miss writing about in this blog. At this point I had to stop whatever I have been busy doing for the past several days. I will tell you all about it on another post soon! So that's one thing to look forward to in case you don't have a life and in case you got time to waste reading my blog...I'm kidding hehe.

First up! I found a school that caters those who are business minded individuals (that excludes me...excuse me) who want to learn short business course. But since I haven't been into business ever, the only reason why this school popped up on my screen was because I had been in searched of an institution which could offer cheap accounting/bookkeeping seminar because seminar nowadays are so so expensive..and to think I need a three-day seminar, I had no choice but to sentence my wallet to death! Thanks to wallet life saver, Negoskwela, I was spared being broke haha!

Another good thing about this whole seminar thing was the fact that the dates were scheduled on weekends, thus I don't need to file any leave of absence! And another good thing, yes another one was the first day being held a day before our wedding anniversary! Meaning, I was able to go meet husband in Quezon City and celebrate together on the 1st. So finally after several years, I reached their barrack, a tiny room where they can spend the night just enough to protect them from cold and insect bites. And my imagination was right, I'm not a choosy person but there was no way I could stay on the place like that even just for a night. Thanks to my preparedness, I booked one night at Tune Hotel! Very very cheap for a nice and known hotel not only in PH but in other countries! Guess how cheap I paid agoda? Only 1300 baby!

After the wedding anniversary, came husband's birthday on the 6th. Not so much happened other than celebrating it while eating our favorite papaitan and kalderetang kambing cooked to perfection by the best chef in the world! The only person whose cooking I would eat whatever he prepares even if he cooks worm! My chef just turns 40, whaaat? To my husband of 12 years, you're getting old and your hairs are turning gray but I'm not getting tired munchin on your tasty recipes! Cook some more baby...until my last tooth falls.

Third and last occasion was ofcourse the Vday! Everybody knows my husband is full of surprises predictable and has no initiative at all. When I want something, I gotta ask. That's for always. So for Valentine's day, I made the first move okay! The dominant (me) had setup a movie date with my submissive valentino! 50 Shades of Grey and dinner at Tokyo Tokyo ain't a bad idea, agree? I'm soo romantic my gosh!

No sushi equals heartbroken me :(

Post holiday thoughts...

Now that I'm writing this, I look at the time and it says 10:00 PM, 1/1/2015, so I guess it's safe to put "post" on the title? Because here in the house, all holiday celebrations had just ended. I said on the previous post how I wished for christmas to not end so quickly, sadly now it just ended and the new year too :( like bad times, good times expire just the same. Only, good times are sometimes followed by post holiday blues. Frankly, I'm starting to feel the syndrome and that's why i opted to write through this blog all my worries away.

First up, let me sum up everything that happened during the past weeks. You already know sister got back home from Kuwait on December 1st after almost three years. We made it up to the time lost by going to malls almost every weekend, doing whatever we think is fun and by us trying to be fast food invaders for several occasions until our intestines get suffocated. My only regret was when I got somewhat carefree, sometimes lazy, I never took pictures of us during those happy moments. You know it's hard to blog without some pictures.

With my sister on christmas day, I can say christmas was better than before. Lotsa food on the table but I cannot recall now what food we prepared on christmas because I never took pictures, see? Pictures are blog's bestfriend, And person-like-me-who-is-forgetful bestfriend. Come new year's day, now that is fresh baby :) we had lechon matched with pickled young papaya (which aputen and I made) to battle and digest easily the fats in lechon, we also had fruit salad, fresh lumpia, roasted bangus, spaghetti that I made (which Julien favorited the most), perfect segway ever, I know.

On to the aftermath of eating like there's no tomorrow, who doesn't feel bloated this festive time of the year? I actually visualizing the tons of food I swallowed from the time I last pooped until now, what the fuck! Gotta blame it on the truckload of food we prepared during new year's eve. A tradition that's hard to break. A tradition I call the culprit when everything goes out of control. Ahh traditions, like rules I wanna sometimes break. When will I have just wine and cake during special occasions? Can't christmas and new year be less expensive?

During my alone time, I dream of a simple life, I dream of spending christmas not in a mansion but in a small house built with combination of stones and logs. That explains why I love Baguio. In Baguio I can see a lot of rustic resto and lodge. It's where I first saw a fireplace, a forest of pine trees, hills, literally nature. By far a place so close to my childhood fairy tale fantasy. If I had the money now, I would buy a house and settle there for good. I would sit under a tree, on a wooden bench surrounded with grass so green, while having tea, while eating apple pie with family next to me, I haven't eaten an apple pie. Where in hell would I find an apple pie? Because in my dream, I banned all kinds of meat, junk food and all unhealthy food in the world. I only allowed my family to eat mostly fruits and vegetables. In my dream, we had less money but we were together and everyone was healthy.

I want to live in this house.

But this one is close to my dream house. Simple right? I'm simple like this.

Post holiday blues equals work for me and husband on monday, kids resuming school, sister returning back to Kuwait on tuesday, budget running low, everything going back to normal. I must think of ways to keep my spirit and hopes high but for now, I'm tired and energyless.

Happy new year to all of us!

Sister's treat....Yes Baguio again!

So my sister took a month off from work to make way for a much needed vacation. Her itinerary includes a 4days, 3nights trip to Baguio. Nothing could be more fun and complete than bringing the whole family along. So yeah, off we all went on the 12th until the 15th of December to my favorite cold city of pines!

As usual, I got in charged of room reservation. We could have just stayed at a hotel since I know quite a number of fine hotels in Baguio but I thought a big group like us requires a spacious room for kids to run around and a kitchen for us to cook, you know a family of ten would cost them less to cook than to eat at a restaurant.  Thus, a transient house would be a perfect place.

My first choice was an affordable but very stunning house in Benguet, but it was fully booked at the time I inquired so I settled for Le Chateau in Upper Quarry. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room…just the right one for us. Its kitchen is fully equipped with tools and appliances from spoons, knives, cookwares to gas stove, ref, microwave oven…name it, the unit has it.

Matter of fact, we were able to cook goat stew. Yes goat! There’s a lot in Baguio market sir!

Halayang ube anyone? Yes sir, that too! YUM.

Our unit...no aircon but superrr cold during night time.

The boys....getting warm with Empppy...

Don't you just love the christmas decor?

Why does Christmas come and go quickly? I mean think about it, come December, we hardly get plenty of time to enjoy every minute of it. Everyone seems so busy having vacations, doing Christmas parties here, there and everywhere, rushing into malls…ahhh why do I always get overwhelmed during December?

Too many good things everywhere I look, everyone is nice and happy! I have done a lot but there’s still much left to do that I almost couldn’t keep up…I couldn’t breathe! Was December 1st just yesterday? Wow I can’t believe more than half of my favorite month is gone and before we know it, baaam...Christmas!  Hey Christmas, we love you but will you go slow? Don’t end yet please…pretty please?

At Christmas Village...Hello snow! Hi Kristoff I mean Julien lolz...my nieces said he reminded them of kristoff...oh well..

HI Olaf!

Oh there you are...Elsa! Anna?

I know my sisters are gonna complain about the pictures quality...just enjoy the blog...for now. I might post all the pictures on facebook later when I got the time...

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!

MMDBCS UN Celebration 2014

So I took time off from work to attend kids annual UN celebration at school. Halloween costume party you say? Very not a catholic school thing but kids wearing different national costumes in time for Halloween is a brilliant alternative.

Disclaimer: Photo loaded post....

Would you guess what country my son's costume is from? Wrong. INDIA!

Here's my niece, Madee in Vietnam inspired costume. And look, they hold hands...i like it :)

The turban took me hundred years to assemble..I gotta say I did better than whoever did the kid's turban on the right...just my opinion lolz.

By the way, Julien got red swollen left eye...sad :(

What's on the floor guys?

Really...what's on the floor? Curious now.

My niece got the prettiest hair, agree? Only the ribbon is upside down :) but baby that's sooo cute.

Look closely...your majesties (king and queen) are having a cute conversation.

Seriously, what's the kid in blue costume doing? Epic hahaha.

Madee is squeezed between two cute chubby chicks, aww!

Oh here you are kenzie! I love love that smile :)

Here come the pinoylets..

Strike a pose yeah! Who is this lovely girl? Cuteness overload <3

It's when they hold hands still..that another friend got jealous. #thelook.

#shades #cute

Poor boy...I know your eye hurts.

#sparklingturban

Holding back a yawn..still handsome!

Sorry but I just can't get enough of this gorgeous boy!

#thehair

FYI, I got the costume concept on the internet then I contributed a bit of the design. The cloth was bought from the market by me and husband. Finally the costume was sewn by....I forgot his name. Sorry naman po. I'll find a way to know..promise.
